Self-assessment quizzes

These quizzes are designed as a fun opportunity for you to think more about your research skills and preferences.

Self-assessment quiz 1: How good are your research skills?
Skills 1 2 3 4 5
1. Communication skills (written and verbal)
2. Intellectual skills (eg ability to learn, evaluate, synthesise and analyse)
3. IT skills (eg Word, Excel, stats programs, database searching)
4. Organisational skills (eg project administration and time management)
5. Motivation (reasons for doing the research)
6. Independence (ability to work alone with only supervision/guidance)
7. Perseverance (ability to solve any problems and complete research)
The higher you rate yourself, the better (but only if you've been honest!). Of course, there are no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ answers – and whatever your results, it is worth reflecting on how you can further develop each skill to help you complete your dissertation successfully.
